Duru Aydın was born in 2005 in Istanbul. She began her piano studies at the age of six with Aytaj Rzaguliyeva. In 2013, she was admitted to the part-time program of the Istanbul State Conservatory at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, where she later completed both the middle and high school divisions of the full-time program. She graduated with honors in 2023 from the class of Prof. Metin Ülkü.
Duru has received several awards in national and international competitions. In 2017, she won first prize at the 12th International Pera Piano Competition and placed third in the Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra's National Young Talents Competition. The following year, she was awarded second prize at the 12th International Chopin Piano Competition held in Estonia. In the 2018–2019 season, she was selected as one of İş Sanat’s “Rising Stars” and received the Meriç Soylu Third Prize. In 2021, she won the “Young Pianists Selection” of the 3rd Muğla Idil Biret Music Festival and performed as a soloist with orchestra at Bodrum Castle.
In 2022, she was selected as one of the winners of the “Women Stars of Tomorrow” project, organized by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (IKSV) and sponsored by TSKB as part of the 50th Istanbul Music Festival. That same year, she won third prize at the 5th AKOB National Chamber Music Competition as part of Duo Fonem (with Billur Tankişi).
In July 2023, she participated in the Oberlin Piano Festival in Ohio, USA. Over the course of two weeks, she took part in masterclasses and performances, immersing herself in intensive musical training.
Duru Aydın has performed in prestigious venues such as the Tallinn Philharmonic Concert Hall, Austrian Cultural Office, Süreyya Opera House, İş Sanat Concert Hall, Grand Pera Emek Stage, Cemal Reşit Rey (CRR) Concert Hall, Caddebostan Cultural Center (CKM), Süleyman Seba Culture and Art Center, and Arter Sevgi Gönül Auditorium. She has appeared as a soloist with the Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra, the Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Orchestra, the MSGSU IDK Symphony Orchestra, and the Trakya Chamber Orchestra.
She has actively participated in masterclasses with prominent artists including Dang Thai Son, İdil Biret, Bruno Rigutto, Vincenzo Balzani, Alvin Chow, Robert Shannon, Haewon Song, John Weems, Nancy Weems, Tatiana Ioudenitch, Carl Cranmer, Martina Filjak, Philippe Raskin, and Julia Kociuban.
Continuing to give concerts both in Turkey and abroad, Duru Aydın is currently pursuing her undergraduate studies at the Manhattan School of Music in New York, where she was accepted with a full scholarship. She studies under the tutelage of renowned pianist Yefim Bronfman.
